Gubernatorial Candidate Steve Poizner Called Tort Reform Proponent
Steve Poizner has stood apart in the race for governor by proposing bold policy ideas and being clear on the issues. His “10-10-10 Plan”, an effort to cut spending and taxes, has been a focal point of his campaign.
Legal Newsline weighed in yesterday discussing Steve’s policies and his recent donation to the race in “California Tort Reform Proponent to Put $15 million In His Campaign Coffers.”
A Republican candidate for California governor who has called for sweeping tort reforms will put $15 million of his own money into his campaign coffers.

Among other things, Poizner has called for tax cuts and the creation of a $10 billion rainy-day fund to help avert deep program cuts in future economic downturns. On the legal front, Poizner says he wants to help employers in the Golden State spend their money on reinvestment and jobs creation, not defending lawsuits.

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate, Steve Poizner Stops In Napa
By Jillian JonesState Insurance Commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner vows to save California $10 billion by the end of his first term as governor, if elected, through a combination of tax and spending cuts.
In a recent visit to the Register, Poizner outlined his “10-10-10″ plan, designed to create jobs and boost California’s economy.
If elected next year, Poizner said he plans to cut personal income taxes, the state sales tax and the corporate tax by 10 percent. Combined with a 10 percent cut in state spending over two years, the Republican Insurance Commissioner said he will save California $10 billion for a rainy day fund by the end of his first term.
“State spending has ballooned,” Poizner said. “We have got to get it under control.”
